Resources & References

In the coming months, we will add additional links to key web-based information on a variety topics related to our lake, best practices and general information from authorities, advocacy groups and other lake associations.  The initial list of references follows.

  • Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority (mvc.on.ca) provides information on all aspects of water management, studies, advisories and activities related to the the Mississippi river watershed and conservation areas.​                                                                                                     

  • MVCA has published a report on the Clyde River watershed including sections on Dalhousie Lake.  To review this report, click here 

  • Watersheds Canada (watersheds.ca) is a federally incorporated non-profit organization and registered Canadian charity committed to providing programs to communities across the country that work to engage and help shoreline owners enhance and protect the health of lakes and rivers.

  • Federation of Ontario Cottagers' Association (FOCA.ON.CA) is the voice of the Ontario waterfront. FOCA speaks to, and on behalf of, the 250,000 waterfront property owners including 525 lake & road associations in rural communities across Ontario.

  • ​Leeds. Grenville and Lanark Health Unit provides a range of health related information for the community including weekly water quality tests on local beaches including Dalhousie Lake beach (north west mouth of the lake near Centennial (near Centennial Park)

  • ​A helpful "good neighbour" guideline/suggested code of conduct may be found at the Muskoka Lakes Association website.

The "Anglers Atlas" provides good information on fishing on Dalhousie Lake including types of fish, boat launches and maps

  • Environment Canada provides information on weather, conservation, sustainability, and an array of topics on water quality and levels including real time measure of water level and discharge of Dalhousie Lake.
